Esther Croezen
Esther began her singing career as a folk and jazz singer but soon realised that her true musical love was with the classics.
Five years ago, Esther began training with Andrew Field (A.R.C.M.). In this time, she has developed into a fine dramatic soprano.
Esther’s repertoire is broad and diverse and includes many of the standard operatic arias, lieder and melodies. However, Esther enjoys the opportunity to discover some of the lesser-known repertoire from across the classical spectrum with songs from Spain and Norway to name but a few. Her repertoire includes composers such as Kurt Weill, Ramirez, Villa-Lobos, Poulenc, Richard Strauss and many more.
Her musical skills also continue into composition. Together with Evert-Jan de Jong she composed the music for the theatre production of ‘Slauerhoff, de ontdekker’.
Throughout this time, Esther has performed extensively in Holland and France. She has performed with Andrew Field, her professor, the guitarist Wouter van Mil and accompanist Jonathan Alford in various locations in France, where she has honed her performing skills to a fine art. Esther has also performed selections of classical and jazz music with the orchestras of Ruud Welle, John Derks and Marjo van der Locht.
Three years ago, Esther joined forces with the accompanist Cecile van
Duinhoven and together they have developed a true ensemble. Esther and Cecile perform regularly throughout Holland and France.Esther and Cecile recently performed their concert ‘Aardse Magie’ in the South of France and in Nijmegen where the journal ‘Ugenda’ reported:
